The PC-186 was a non-PC-compatible computer by Research Machines from the UK. It ran MS-DOS and Windows up to version 3.0 (in real mode) and was eventually succeeded by PC compatible models. PC-186 can be emulated in MAME and it can run Windows.

This release comes on two 3.5" 720 kB floppy disks and is dated 10th February 1986. It's designated as Release 1.01. Installation is done with a batch file instead of a proper SETUP.EXE. The WIN.COM loader is already assembled, unlike in other releases where this is done by the setup during the installation. An SDK for this release is also available.

It features a special bootscreen that loads the RM Nimbus logo graphic from the BIOS. The text says:
Microsoft Windows 1.02 (c) 1985 Microsoft Nimbus Release 1.01 3rd February 1986 (c) 1986 Research Machines
