Version 1.01 for Tandy 2000

Version 1.01 for Tandy 2000

<< Go back

Tandy 2000 was a powerful MS-DOS computer from 1983, though it was not 100% PC-compatible. Many of its hardware advantages over the PC/XT also meant that many existing PC software would not run on it without modifications. This computer is emulated in MAME and Windows will run in it.

Windows 1.0 was released for the 2000 in the form of a special 5.25" 360 kB driver disk that applied Tandy 2000-compatible files over the standard PC-compatible disks of Windows 1.0. There are two batch files to perform the procedure: one uses two floppy drives, while the other uses one floppy drive and the hard drive as temporary storage. Several drivers and hardware related system components are replaced on the target disks, then you can install Windows as usual with the updated disks.

No applications have been updated. The bootscreen appears to be the same as the retail 1.01 bootscreen.
